Ohio Coalition Against Gun Violence

The Ohio Coalition Against Gun Violence (OCAGV) is a statewide organization of people, partners and organizations that support reducing and preventing gun death and injury through education and advocacy. OCAGV provides resources and educational materials to the public advocating the reduction and prevention of gun violence. We promote a culture of non-violence in our communities.

Our mission is guided by the belief that more guns will mean more violence and that prevention is the priority over punishment. Our priority is the prevention of gun violence. In that effort we are committed to people, focusing on the safety of families and community. We work to change public attitudes and the culture of violence into public policies to reduce the prevalence of guns and decrease the risks of injury and death from firearms.

OCAGV is the recognized organization in Ohio for current information on gun violence, as well as legislation around violence issues. The Coalition monitors current developments at the national, state and local level and regularly educates people, businesses and organizations throughout Ohio on non-violence and safety issues for children and families. The Coalition works with other organizations and individuals to facilitate community safety solutions and public health recognition of the gun violence problem.
